DHS Diecast Open House - Live Appearance 7/31/16

Join WIXY1260Online as we appear live Sunday, July 31st from 9 am to 5 pm, at the DHS Diecast annual Open House. The show offers… - DHS Model and Diorama Show. About 20 different model builders show off their best stuff at this contest. We award winners in two categories, model building and diorama building. The Model Show goes on at the same time as the Open House in the same location. - Models on Display. We actually open and display over 2500 diecast scale models at tables surrounding the room at the Open House. The models are all numbered and available to purchase as well as review. Models come from over 40 different manufacturers and are built all over the world. - Kids area. The show is family-friendly and we encourage kids to play in our sandbox with provided construction toys. The kids area also offers games and face-painting during the day. - Real Vehicles. Goodbye to a Super WIXY SuperMan, Mark Allen

Dearest WIXY Listeners and Friends, It is with great sadness we report that one of our own, Mark Allen, has passed away this morning. Mark Allen (II) (also known in radio in the area as Bob Charles) was an original WIXY 1260 AM DJ (1974-76) and went on to have a successful career in radio. We were lucky enough to meet up with Mark a few years ago at Ghoulardifest as he was there working with our friends at the Sunday Oldies Jukebox ( http://www.sundayoldiesjukebox.com/home.php ). He enthusiastically re-joined this new WIXY family to lend us his incredible talent as both an announcer (earlier on), and as a consultant, providing his expert insight in this business as we continue to learn, adjust and grow. Mark's vocal contributions and mentorship to our management team will be greatly missed, as will his thoughtful, sometimes demanding, but always loving friendship.  Mark's voice can be heard in his weekly 1 Hour Special (airs Tues & Thurs 2-3 PM and...
