TWO SPECIAL RAY'S OF SUNSHINE This week we celebrated our beloved Ray King 's 75th birthday with a special show and much fanfare.  Ray has been with the station since the start and has been an important part of us being able to bring you those classic WIXY sounds, the wide variety of music, and of course, his awesome Thursday night (7-11 PM) shows.  Be sure to wish him a Happy Birthday if you haven't already. Happy Spring (?) Dear WIXY Family,      As we prepare for the Spring season ahead and look forward to being outdoors more often, when Mother Nature doesn't throw us a curve-ball snow storm that is, we want to reach out to update you on the state of the station and our progress migrating to new streaming and licensing services.       As many of you may recall from earlier e-mails, social media posts, and the ongoing updates to our website, we have made the transition to officially operating as a non-profit webcaster, thanks to the help of our friends at Euclid Beach Park Now .  What does this mean?  It means we are able to continue to provide you with a FREE listening option that is dedicated to preserving the memory of the historic WIXY 1260 AM.  It also means lowered operating costs for the station to allow us to be viable well into the future by avoiding outlandish music royalty licensing fees that commercial webcasters must pay.  ...

Greetings WIXY-ites, As many of you may already know, 2022 Started with some unexpected challenges for us with regard to music licensing and changes we've been forced to make as a result.  Fortunately, despite these setbacks, we've yet again risen to the task and are making 2022 a year to remember (for better reasons, and not the licensing stuff that has us scrambling to update our listeners with new listening links.) WIXY IN THE WILD Yes, WIXY1260Online is going WILD!  Anyone who has visited the  Happenings Section of our website can see, we have a jam-packed 2022 in store for remote events.  And thanks to our wonderful staff, we are venturing out all over Northeast Ohio with our tents and trailer to entertain you and show you how you too can listen to WIXY IN THE WILD (i.e., in campgrounds, parks, or even your own back yard).   We are setting up camp this April 1-3 at the I-X Piston Powered Auto Rama and excited to revive this great tradition ...

Greetings WIXY Loyal Listeners, Happy New Year, WIXY Friends!   We hope your holidays went well and you're safe and healthy as we forge ahead into a new year filled with hope, challenges and life's unpredictable path.  As many of you may have already known, we got thrown a curve ball at the end of 2021 and had to switch to a new commercial licensing provider with higher broadcasting rates than our prior, now defunct, provider.  Nonetheless, we have made some hard adjustments and continue to navigate these waters with a goal of keeping the music going.
